Villa made the long journey to Ballymoney against Glebe Rangers who have had a slow start to their Championship 1 season. The Millisle men took the lead in the first half with a goal from Luke Adair who gave a good performance in the second half.
Villa had eight players booked in what was a far from bruising encounter. An injury to Matthew Best disrupted Villa’s shape. The full back had been playing well before his substitution. Villa lost their shape badly in his absence and the home side ran out comfortable 3-1 winners.
Villa: David Moore, George Gamble, Matthew Best, Alan Strain, Ryan McCurdy, Thomas Canavan, Gary Sharratt, Stuart Heath, Luke Adair, Norman Mitchell and Chris Wright. Subs: Josh Hall (for Mitchell), Stephen Mulholland and Adam Couser (for Best)
Glebe Rangers: Matt McGraw, Adam McCart, Lee Forgrave, David McVicker, Johnny Rice, Alan Shephard, Craig McAllister, Ryan Marks, Ian Parkhill, Bryan Tosh, Lee Garrett. Subs: Tommy Elder, Nigel Turner and Peter Kennoway.
Referee: Colin Rainey (Randalstown)
